About Mel and Marta
They met in Barcelona, drawn together by their love of music. Their collaboration evolved into the first sparks of romance and eventually into a fully formed relationship. They married five years later. The ups and downs of learning how to combine their lives and cultures led them through many challenging moments. These challenges only strengthened their commitment and deepened their love in meaningful ways.
That’s where MARMELI was born — a merging of two worlds, two names, two lives becoming one.
Uniting their creativity and talents, they offer retreats for couples and singles, concerts where love and music intertwine, and DJ sets designed to uplift your vibrations.
Mel Semé
Born in Cuba to Haitian parents, is currently starring in the Broadway musical Buena Vista Social Club. He is also a member of the band Gone Gone Beyond, has appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk, and works as a producer and multi-instrumentalist.
Marta Cascales Alimbau
Born in Barcelona, Spain, is a composer, producer, performer. A Grammy Awards voting member and Deutsche Grammophon artist who collaborates with choreographers and filmmakers, and is the creator of her signature Piano Bath experience.
